Ming Dynasty Chenghua Period Doucai Porcelain Tian Jar W/Tian Mark & Wax Export Seal - This piece is a porcelain lidded jar of guan form with a wide mouth, broad shoulders and a wide base. The piece was made during the Ming Dynasty, Chenghua period, and is decorated with grape motif in the doucai style. The underside of the base bears the Tian mark (meaning heaven) in cobalt blue underglaze, and the jar is also stamped with an old export customs permission wax seal, needed to export antique artifacts from China. The jar measures 5"H x 4.75" in diameter.
