A small Chinese doucai flower pattern porcelain jar and cover
Ming dynasty, Chenghua period
11.5 cm H x 13.2 cm Diam
This small tank has a regular shape, and the carcass is firm and delicate, with a distinctly heavy feeling. The outer wall is painted with colorful flower patterns, and the brushwork is slender. Against the backdrop of the elegant blue, the red and green colors appear colorful in the picture, and the fragrance is intoxicating.
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of Garold G. Darty(1930-2019) of Bear, DE. Born in Townsend, DE on June 29, 1930, Garold was a life-long Delaware resident. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard from 1948 until 1954. He worked as a surveyor for Delaware Dept. of Transportation for 37 years, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. A devoted family man, he especially loved family gatherings and crab feasts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, working in his yard, garden, and home. He was a faithful Phillies and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country and accomplished his goal of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Bud was a member of The United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where he served as an usher and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
