Potted in jar shape, has an wide open mouth with a slightly out-turned lip, and the short neck leads to a convex bulging belly with a restrained bottom, with dome lid finial bud. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in blue and yellow color, depicted of lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years ChengHua Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
