Potted with a large cylinder vessel, having thick and tall potted body, ovoid belly, gently tapered on short neck, opening mouth prominent, with flat dome lid and raised on round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white color which contrast against DouCai design color depicted of mythical qilin flying careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves. Qilin are extraordinarily beautiful creatures, sparkling like gems and adorned in flames. With their scaly bodies and horned heads, they resemble Chinese dragons. Qilin are symbol of luck, good omens, protection, prosperity, success, and longevity by the Chinese. Whatever their special attraction, they always move gracefully and dazzle the mortals who see them.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a single under glazed blue script characters reign mark.
