Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Carchi-Narino, Capuli Complex, ca. 850 to 1500 CE. A ceremonial pedestal bowl with slightly flaring concave foot, the interior decorated with negative-resist in beige on a chocolate brown ground, depicting a quadruped animorphic figure on the tondo surrounded by a register of step and abstract geometric motifs, the exterior walls and foot covered in a rich red slip. Size: 7" in diameter x 3.625" H (17.8 cm x 9.2 cm)
