Ancient Greece, Classical to Hellenistic Period, ca. 6th to 1st century CE; Magna Graecia, South Italic Colonies, Apulia, ca. mid to late 4th century BCE. A set of 5 wheel-thrown pottery vessels from ancient Greece and surrounding colonies. First is a large buffware bowl with flared walls. Next are 2 skyphoi, each with laterally-projecting handles. Next is a footed pyxis with a shallow basin, and last is the base of a drinking vessel called a lekanis. Size of largest (bowl): 7.3" W x 3.2" H (18.5 cm x 8.1 cm)
Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010

Condition
Repairs to lekanis base and 1 skyphos, with losses and adhesive residue as shown; remaining 3 vessels have small chips but are otherwise intact. Each vessel with abrasions and earthen deposits commensurate with age.
