Description
Greece, Athens (Attic), ca. 5th century BCE. An attractive pottery plemochoe, also known as an exaleiptron or a kothon, enveloped in a lustrous black glaze. Used for storing perfume, the vessel presents an elegant form with a flared, discoid foot, a broad body, and an inward-folding rim that prevented the liquid from spilling. Size: 6.3" Diameter x 3" H (16 cm x 7.6 cm)
