Lovely June 1, 1775 South Carolina Ten Pounds Note
South Carolina. Provincial Congress at Charlestown. June 1, 1775. Ten Pounds. “Hand Holding a Sword” vignette. Choice About Extremely Fine.
Fr. SC-99. This impressive Revolutionary War Large Format note measures about 4” tall x 6.5” wide having all six signatures present. Vignette at lower right is encircled showing a mans Hand holding a Colonial Era Sword at vertical with the date “1775” below and the Latin motto: “ET DEUS OMNIPOTENS” (AND ALMIGHTY G’D) above being in patriotic prayer. The blank reverse is very clean with only two light contemporary signature endorsements. There is a deft sealed vertical centerfold with light conservation. The margins are full and solid, the printed text clear and the vignette bold and sharp. This superior quality note is attractive and well above average for the issue.
