Description
Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Mezcala/Guerrero, ca. 100 BCE to 300 CE. This is a small, nearly transparent carving of a zoomorphic shape -- maybe a frog? For a very similar example, see one of a frog in the Cleveland Museum of Art. Size: 1.25" L x 0.6" W (3.2 cm x 1.5 cm)
Provenance: Ex- Paul and Louise Bernheimer collection, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA. Acquired before 1980
