Ca. 400 - 300 BC.
A wheel-thrown lekythos with an egg-shaped body atop a grooved discoid base. It has rounded shoulders which taper to a corseted cylindrical neck. The vessel is adorned with a flared rim and a high-arching handle that joins the neck and shoulders. The black-glazed exterior boasts areas of red-figure artistry, including a 'lady of fashion' with a kekryphalos hairstyle, spiraling tendrils, and a stylised palmette. There is some faint silvery iridescence that has formed over some of the glazed areas. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 41.162.225.
