Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945). Typed Letter Signed, "Franklin D. Roosevelt", as president, 1p, on White House stationery measuring 8" x 10.5", Washington, March 3, 1939. File punch holes at top. Department of Interior stamp of receipt at top right. Scattered spotting and minor toning. In near fine condition with a large, bold signature.
Roosevelt writes to Harold L. Ickes (1874-1952), Chairman of the Committee on a Building Program to Meet Space Needs of Departments and Agencies in Washington. In full: ?I am enclosing herewith a letter from the Chairman of the National Capital Park and Planning Commission, together with related correspondence and minutes of a meeting, pertaining to proposed Federal court buildings for the District of Columbia. In view of the relationship of this question to the program for construction of Federal buildings in the District of Columbia, I am referring the matter to the committee of which you are chairman for further consideration.?
