THE STIEFF CO. "CORSAGE" STERLING SILVER 150-PIECE FLATWARE SERVICE, designed by Gideon N. Stieff and Ellis T. Baker in 1935; solid sterling pieces comprising 11 7"-7 1/8" L forks, one 7 1/2" L fork, 12 salad forks, eight cocktail/oyster forks, 12 ice cream forks, eight round soup spoons, eight oval soup/dessert spoons, eight fruit/orange spoons, 12 iced tea spoons, two teaspoons, 16 5 o'clock teaspoons, five demitasse spoons, eight butter spreaders, a salad serving fork and spoon set, a small meat serving fork, a pickle/olive fork, a lemon fork, six serving/tablespoons with one having pierced bowl, a pea serving spoon with pierced bowl, a gravy ladle, a cream ladle, a pair of sugar spoons, an olive spoons with pieced bowl, a pair of bon bon spoons, a jelly server, a tomato server, a butter knife, and a pair of sugar tongs; pieces with hollow sterling handles and stainless tops consisting of 12 place knives, a carving fork and knife set, a cake knife/slicer, and a cheese server. Each piece marked "STIEFF" and "STERLING". Total weight excluding 16 hollow-handled pieces: 162.01 ozt. The Stieff Co., Baltimore, MD. Mid/third quarter 20th century. 4 1/4" to 11 1/2" LOA.
Condition
Very good to excellent overall condition with minor wear, minor to moderate surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, possibly one or a few minute dents, very slight bending, and/or slight worn spots to raised decoration.
