GEORGE II BRITISH ARMORIAL STERLING SILVER HOT WATER / TEA KETTLE WITH STAND AND BURNER, late Baroque / early Rococo style, tea kettle with ribbed melon-form well having a spout and a hinged bail handle, both with scrolled and foliate designs, hinged lid with possibly later wooden finial, featuring ornate engraved band bordering the rim, one side with engraved coat of arms commemorating the marriage William Bury of Shannon Grove, Co. Limerick, Ireland and The Honourable Jane Moore, the only daughter of John Moore, the 1st Baron Moore, of Tullamore in the King's County, raised on a round foot rim, presented with a stand raised on three double scrolled legs and foliate feet, three applied swags with mask centers, legs with stretcher attached to a holder for the burner, which is engraved to top with "STEADY" above a dragon's head pierced by an arrow through the neck. Kettle impressed with "T [pellet] F" maker's mark for Thomas Farren (Ferran) of London and three hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a crowned leopard's head city mark, and an "S" date mark for 1733, burner with three "T [pellet] F" maker's marks, stand unmarked. Total weight: 101.1 ozt. Circa 1733. 14 3/4" HOA,

Condition

Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, minute denting notably to side of burner; stand with a split to one swag, a possible solder repair to one stretcher support at terminal of burner holder.
