WHITING MFG. CO. "LOUIS XV" STERLING SILVER 40-PIECE FLATWARE SET, pattern designed by Charles Osborne in 1891, each having personalized engraving to handle with most being "Hughes", comprising 12 luncheon/dessert forks, 12 dessert/soup spoons, ten teaspoons, five serving/tablespoons, and one olive/pickle spoon with pierced bowl. Each with "STERLING" and maker's marks. Total weight: 43.19 ozt. Whiting Mfg. Co., North Attleboro, MA, New York City, NY, and Bridgeport, CT. Late 19th/early 20th century. 5 3/4" to 8 1/4" LOA.
