U. S. Grant Rare Signed Cabinet Card with Rank. Fantastic Example.
Cabinet Card, Fredricks, New York, February 4th, 1869, imprint on mount featuring a portrait view of Ulysses S. Grant in a three-piece suit. Boldly signed just below the portrait, "U.S. Grant General." Verso with imprint of “C.D. Fredericks and Co.” Mount has light soiling and wear, slight paper loss on verso, else fine. 4.375" x 6.5".
Ulysses S. Grant was an American military officer and politician who served as the 18th president of the United States from 1869 to 1877. As Commanding General, he led the Union Army to victory in the American Civil War in 1865 and thereafter briefly served as Secretary of War.
