Description
ENGLISH CREAMWARE CERAMIC TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF FIVE, comprising four black transfer plates with six floral sprigs to border, featuring images including three depicting ships flying the American flag and one with Guy Green's "The Smoking Party" featuring a boisterous group of men around a table, and an ovoid-form footed compote with polychrome hand-painted berry and vine border decoration. One ship plate impressed "LEEDS POTTERY / 14", compote impressed "WEDGWOOD" and "8" to underside. Wedgwood, Etruria; Leeds Pottery, Leeds, England; and others. Fourth quarter 18th/early 19th century. Compote 5 5/8" HOA, 11 5/8" x 7 7/8".

Condition
One ship plate undamaged, except each having some expected usage wear including scattered scratches, remaining plates having some imperfections including rim flakes, some with old restoration; compote with chip to underside rim edge and minute flake to foot edge. Some having manufacturing flaws including glaze imperfections, as made.
