Description
ENGLISH SPATTERWARE CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF FIVE, comprising one handled pitcher with pink and green pigments, one saucer having a polychrome-painted peafowl surrounded by red, sponged pigment, one cup and saucer set with blue and red pigments, and one handled mug with blue and orange pigments. Peafowl saucer is impressed "STONEWARE / PW & Co." otherwise unmarked. Staffordshire and other areas. Circa 1830. 4 1/2" to 4 3/4" H, 3 1/8" to 4 9/16" D.
Good condition overall. Minor wear, tea bowl has one hairline crack at rim and saucer is undamaged, peafowl saucer is undamaged, pitcher has radial hairline crack in base, significant damage to handled mug.
