John Gorse (1945-2020) of Charleston, SC. A business entrepreneurs, private collectors. A retired as senior vice president for legal and regulatory affairs in 1981. After retirement he focused his efforts on revitalizing the local area and philanthropy. His entrepreneurial drive continually motivated him to privately invest in real estate ventures and many other businesses. In addition to his impressive business acumen, he was a man of artistic pursuits, collecting antiques, porcelains, oriental rugs, and artwork of many different genres.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Jiajing Blue and White Figurines Motif Porcelain Double Gourd Bottle Vase. The porcelain potted in a shape of double gourd bottle vase, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, round opening lip, raised on ring foot base and slightly concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white color which contrast against blue design color, depicted of many figurines in various pursuit on the fields bellow dense tree.

The Shoulder-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. Made in The Years Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
