Chinese Ming Dynasty Jiajing Yellow on Red Porcelain Gourd Bottle. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, square lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a cylindrical neck, raised on short ring foot base and slightly concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in deep red base color which contrast against yellow color, depicted of lotus flower bloom foliage tendril and scrolling interlocking tendril. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
