Chinese Ming Dynasty Reversed Blue and White Dragon Porcelain Plate. The plate has a broad wide central interior, round rim, thick and large, raised on correspondence slightly concave footed ring base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames, vapors, chasing blazing pearl amidst scrolling cumulus clouds, with face toward the heavens. The backdrop depicts swirling wind and fire painted atop a beautiful white under glaze.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
