Chinese Ji Blue Monochrome Porcelain Gourd Bottle. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a cylindrical neck, raised on short ring foot base and slightly concave. Warm and uniform blue glaze applied to the whole surface, only the upper mouth rim and outer bottom is white glazed. Blue is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. Blue stands for healing, trust and long life. Shades of blue are used to decorate homes for longevity and harmony.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine blue rings. Made in The Years of Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
