Description
Rare Hummel, Morning Stroll prototype. Hummel is about 25% larger then issued piece in 1994. Originally called "Walking the Baby". Modeled by Gerhard Skrobek in 1964. This piece has a Dachshund running alongside of the carriage. This issued piece does not have a dog. Hummel measures approx. 4 1/2" tall, TMK-4, Hum 375. No cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. No box. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
