Description
Rare Hummel, Relaxation. This piece is a prototype and has not been put into production as of 6/2000. Originally called "Nightly Ritual". Modeled by Karl Wagner in 1955. Painted by Gunther Neubauer 1/56. Translation of writing on tub is "Summer Fresh". Hummel measures approx. 4" tall, TMK-2, Hum 316. No cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. No box. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
