Description
Extremely rare Hummel, Holy Water Font with cross and doves. Modeled by Reinhold Unger in 1937. Made as samples only. Only 10 known examples in existence per Miller 7th edition. Hummel measures approx. 6 1/2" long x 2 3/4" wide, TMK-1, Hum 77. No cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. No box. See our other auction lots for more rare large and small M.I. Hummel and Goebel figurines. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
