Description
Rare Hummel, Duet. Originally modeled by Arthur Moller in 1939. Old name "The Songsters". Usual pieces have a tie on the boy with the hat on the right. This piece does not have a tie on either boy, which makes it rare. Bought at Miller's third auction in Dayton, Ohio. Hummel measures approx. 5", TMK-3, Hum 130. No cracks, chips or repairs. Crazing present. No box. See our other auction lots for more rare large and small M.I. Hummel and Goebel figurines. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
