Description
Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A fine set of two petite, mold-formed faience pendants depicting a standing falcon and a seated cat, both presenting atop integral platforms and covered in faint remains of blue-green glaze. The falcon stands atop slender legs with wings folded against its breast and holds upright its head and raptorial beak. The majestic feline sits upon thick haunches and features a pair of perky ears atop its slender face. Both creatures have a perforated suspension loop behind their heads. Size of largest (cat): 0.6" L x 0.875" H (1.5 cm x 2.2 cm)

Both pieces have softening to some finer details, fading to glaze pigment, and light pitting, otherwise intact and very good. Faint remains of blue-green glaze throughout.
