Description
An Egyptian bronze axe-head, c. 1200 - 1000 BC, the blade curved with three drilled mounting holes, the back with hooked extensions on either end. The axe is well-preserved with incised birds on one side and a cartouche with an E-Shaped character on the opposite side. The incising seems to have been done later, perhaps even in modern times. 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 in (10.8 x 7 cm). Ex Southern California private collection.
