Broadside advertising a concert for the benefit of the Freedmen’s Aid Society on November 3rd, 1865. Some creases, normal soiling. Measures 12 x 5 inches.

The Freedmen's Aid Society was founded in 1861/62 during the Civil War by the American Missionary Association. It organized a small army of teachers to go to the South and set up schools to educate recently freed slaves.
