Lincoln & Johnson 1864 Union Republican Ticket
Broadside, “Union Republican Ticket / Abraham Lincoln of Illinois for President / Andrew Johnson of Tennessee for Vice President”. 5.5” x 6.5” circular pictures a United States flag atop a globe reading “Our Country” floating at sea, flanked by United States flags at both sides. Scattered foxing; staining; light creasing; else, near fine condition.
For the 1864 Presidential Election, New Hampshire voters chose five representatives who pledged to the Lincoln-Johnson ticket. Listed here are the names of the New Hampshire electors: William H. Y. Hackett (1800-1878) of Portsmouth; Daniel M. Christie (1790-1896) of Dover; Archibald H. Dunlap (1817-1894) of Nashua; Allen Giffin (1802-1887) of Keene; and Henry O. Kent (1834-1909) of Lancaster.
New Hampshire voted for the National Union candidate, Abraham Lincoln, over the Democratic candidate, George B. McClellan. Lincoln won the state by a margin of 5.12%; New Hampshire was one of six states where the margin of victory was under 10%.
