Description
Dimensions: 12-7/8" H x 4-3/4" Diam.
Majestic, Chinese 17th Qing Dynasty Qianlong Reign Period, open window Chinese poetry GE porcelain bottle vase. Potted with a bulbous tall lower body, flaring gently tapper the faceted shoulder, elevated the tall cylindrical neck, raised upon a slightly splayed foot base in wood design color. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in GE design turquoise underglaze base color which contrast against the black fine color. Distinctive "GE" crackled glaze also known as jinsitiexian which translates to mean gold floss and iron thread which details the look of several lines that appear in the crackled surface. The main body adorned with Chinese calligraphy poetry with red seal mark, in a auspicious flori shape. The Shoulder decorated with taotie mask, key fret and upturning phoenix tail on the neck. Scrolling ruyi and tendril decorated on the upper mouth rim, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The color is balanced, elegant and exquisite. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, a feast for the eye.
Mark on under base, a six underglaze red seal script characters reign mark, Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
