Description
Ancient Near East, Luristan, Marlik, or other area around the Caspian Sea, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A huge leaf-shaped, round-shouldered bronze spear point, cast in a single piece. A prominent midrib extends into a long shank, which is separated from a square tang by heavy square molding. The tang ends in a bent, button terminal. The exterior is covered in thick layers of green, blue-green, azurite, and russet patina. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 1.75" W x 20.75" H (4.4 cm x 52.7 cm).

Condition
Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, slight bend to blade edges, small nicks to button terminal, and minor roughness across most surfaces, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits and fabulous patina throughout. Old inventory sticker on tang.
