Description
Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A lost wax cast bronze spearhead with a long, triangular blade and gently sloping shoulders. The handle includes two upturned bronze walls, so that the spear could be fitted to a wooden pole. The body is simple, with no mid-rib - this was just a straightforward weapon, designed for function rather than decorative form. Size: 1.5" W x 13.3" H (3.8 cm x 33.8 cm); 13.55" H (34.4 cm) on included custom stand.
