Lossing wrote and edited over 40 historical and biographical works, most on American history. Much of Volume II is devoted to the Revolutionary War era, and likewise much of Volume III covers the Civil War era. Includes, at the end of Volume III, the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, and Washington's Farewell Address. First published 1876-78.
