Wolcott was Washington’s Secretary of the Treasury from 1795 to 1800 and the 24th Governor of Connecticut from 1817 to 1827. 7 ¾” x 10” autograph letter signed, New York, November 6, 1804, to Roger Griswold (1762-1812) Governor of Connecticut, U. S. Representative. “…This will be presented to you by Mr. Peter Aauve, who with his associates…are charged by the People of Louisiana, with a Memorial to Congress, on subjects highly interesting to that country…I venture to recommend these Gentlemen to your particular attention….”
