Description
Luristan, northwestern Iran, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A matching pair of bronze cloak pins cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process with poppy flower shaped termini. Such elaborately decorated fashion articles were used to fasten the clothes of the ancients prior to the development of fibulae (brooches). A lovely pair in excellent condition. Size: longer pin measures 6.625" L (16.8 cm) Size: 6" L (15.2 cm); shorter measures Size: 6" L (15.2 cm)
