Description
Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A tall and slender bronze cloak pin created via the lost wax (cire perdue) casting process. The pin is lengthy and gradually tapers to a thin point, and a finial in the form of an endearing dog standing at attention with perky ears, bulging eyes, a hefty collar, and a raised tail. In addition to this charming form, the pin is imbued with a gorgeous blue-green patina that has developed over the ages. Size: 1.1" W x 5.75" H (2.8 cm x 14.6 cm); 6.55" H (16.6 cm) on included custom stand.
