Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A tall and slender bronze cloak pin created using the lost wax casting process. It has a lengthy body which gradually tapers to a thin point, and a finial in the form of a stocky mouflon. The mouflon, a type of curved-horn sheep native to the Indus Valley region, is an ancient animal symbolic of heartiness, perseverance, and stubbornness due to their tenacious nature. A wonderful verdant-green patina has formed across all surfaces, imbuing this accessory with a finely-aged appearance. Comes with custom display stand.
