DESCRIPTION: A collection of Pre-Columbian Inca and Chimu textiles. Comprises of the following:
- The first textile, seen at the very top, is a Chimu woven cotton textile with serpent motifs.
- The second textile seen middle left, is a Chimu woven cotton fragment with four sided serpent motifs.
- The third textile seen middle right, is a Chimu woven cotton fragment with "crab face" designs.
- The fourth textile seen at the very bottom, is an Inca coca bag comprising of woven cotton with green, brown, yellow, beige stripes along with geometric patterns and tassels along the bottom.
Sold as one lot as the textiles have been stitched to a linen canvas in a presentative manner. These items have been appraised and authenticated by Carol Damian, Master of Art in Pre-Columbian Art History from the University of Miami, with an array of professional academic experience in the field of Pre-Columbian art such as Assistant Professor of Art History at Florida International University, Special Consultant of Pre Columbian Art at the Lowe Art Museum, and Special Consultant at the Consulate of Peru.
