Greek, Ionia (Anatolia), ca. 6th century BCE. This earthtone pottery vessel, used for containing oils and other less-common liquids, has a flat base, piriform two-toned body that tapers to a tubular neck, a flared and rolled rim, and a single applied handle. Traces of silvery iridescence are still visible throughout the charcoal-hued top portion. Size: 3.25" L x 2.75" W x 5.75" H (8.3 cm x 7 cm x 14.6 cm).
