WILLIAM DUER
(1743 - 1799) British-born American Continental Congressman, lawyer and speculator. A Federalist, Duer wrote in support of ratifying the Constitution as "Philo-Publius." He also signed the Articles of Confederation. Partly-printed D.S., 1p. legal folio, New York, Oct. 20, 1790, a performance bond issued to Catherine Harsenbrig and signed by Duer, Peter Stuyvesant Alderman Nicholas Bayard. Fold splits, else very good.
