Description
Rome, Early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A large silvered bronze mirror of a circular form. The mirror would have been meticulously polished to provide a strong reflection. Today that reflective quality is preserved on one of its faces, though russet and green patina obscures a few areas; the other face shows considerably more weathering. A wonderful example from the ancient Romans. Size: 7.5" in diameter (19 cm)
