Description
Rome, Early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A fine silvered bronze mirror of a circular form with an openwork border comprised of circular perforations and incised concentric circles adorning one side. The mirror would have been meticulously polished to provide a strong reflection. A similar example (though with a handle) resides in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (accession number 07.286.127). Custom stand.
