Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A rounded cast bronze mirror whose surface has been silvered and, on its concave side, lightly engraved with an abstract, seven-pointed star motif. The mirror would have been meticulously polished to provide a strong reflection. A similar example (though with a handle) resides in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (accession number 07.286.127). Size: 4.8" W (12.2 cm)
