Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A cast-bronze bust of Hermes, the messenger of the gods, wearing his signature winged helmet. His youthful visage exhibits petite ovoid eyes, an angular nose, and pursed lips, presenting with left shoulder forward, and a curly coiffure topping his pate. Fine layers of naturally-occurring patina in hues of green and brown have formed across this ancient artifact. Size: 0.47" L x 0.58" W x 1.19" H (1.2 cm x 1.5 cm x 3 cm); 2.63" H (6.7 cm) on included custom stand.
