Surrounded by her cubs the mother bear stands upright to get a good look at the fish passing in the stream. It's feeding time and she must provide for her young. Soon the cubs will mature and capture fish on their own, but for now mama bear's guidance is key. The bears stand on a slanted rock, one cub mirrors his mothers stance while the other stands on all legs pressed close to the rock. The sculpture stands on a black marble base and has the signature Barye. It was crafted using the lost wax method.
