Description
ENGLISH PEARLWARE CERAMIC TEA ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, comprising one pitcher and one covered sugar, both being paneled having a geometric pattern painted in brown along shoulder and blue line along rim with foliate pattern painted on sides. Large incised "X" on the base of the sugar, pitcher unmarked. Staffordshire and other areas. Circa 1810. Pitcher 5 1/4" H, sugar 5 1/2" x 6" x 4 3/4".
Expected glaze crazing, some wear and roughness on rim of sugar; small area of glaze exfoliation on base of pitcher, and two small areas of exfoliation on interior; minor flake to the underside of spout, cover on sugar is missing one corner and has had major restoration that is failing.
