Description
ENGLISH PEAFOWL PEARLWARE CERAMIC DISH, blue-decorated bird with an elaborate brown and orange tail and riotous yellow plumage extended from its head, sponged green foliage makes up the branch the bird is perched on in the center of the plate, marley of dish has a wide band of orange pigment and a thin blue band. Impressed "M.N." and painted "46" or "HB" in brown pigment on base. Mayer and Newbold, Staffordshire. 1817-1833. 9 1/16" D.
Excellent, undamaged condition. Minor expected wear.
