Description
A Greek terracotta face of a satyr, c.3rd – 1st Century BC, perhaps Selinos, with nicely modeled features and large beard. Intact, mineral deposits and traces of pigment. Mounted on an antique wood and fabric frame. Head: 2 5/8 in x 1 ¾ in (6.7 x 4.5 cm), mount: 4 in x 3 in (10.2 x 7.6 cm). Ex English private collection, acquired in 1973.
