Description
Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Lambayeque Valley, ca. 800 to 1000 CE. Pottery jar with bifurcated handle sitting on flared base. Atop the shoulders of the jar are two adorants, heads emerging bodies merging with the vessel, with arms outstretched and faint remains of negative resist decoration on body. Size: 7-1/2"H (19,1cm).
Provenance: Ex-private Pavao collection, PA, acquired before 1980.
