Provenienza asta Semenzato del 18/12/1990 come Giovanni Agostino Ratti.
Federico Zeri divide le due opere, con la scheda 86775 della sua fototeca, attribuisce a Giorgio Duranti la tela con il ragazzo in basso a sinistra, e a generica scuola genovese la natura morta con conigli, scheda 96595 Fototeca Zeri.
La coppia di nature morte può essere ricondotta all'ambito di Giacomo Liegi, pittore fiammingo allievo e cognato di Jan Roos che, prima nel 1620-1625 e poi nel 1638-1640, fu attivo a Genova. In seguito si trasferì a Milano dove morì nel 1640.

Provenance Semenzato auction of 18/12/1990 as Giovanni Agostino Ratti.
Federico Zeri divides the two artworks, with form 86775 in his photo library, attributing the canvas with the boy in the lower left-hand corner to Giorgio Duranti, and the Still Life With Rabbits to a generic Genoese school, form 96595 Fototeca Zeri.
The pair of still lifes can be traced back to the circle of Giacomo Liegi, a Flemish painter, pupil and brother-in-law of Jan Roos, who was active in Genoa, first in 1620-1625 and then in 1638-1640. He later moved to Milan where he died in 1640.
